Warriors

Hello, Brambleclawx! I saw your post on the WikiProjectNovels General Forum about splitting the Warriors character list. I don't have any experience with consensus, but look at this if you haven't already. I took a look at the list and I agree that some splits would be a good idea. I looked around some and it does appear that most WikiProject Warriors members are not active. After awhile, if no one else responds to your questions, I would be bold and make the splits. I will help if I can. I've read some of the Warriors books, but I'm also fairly new to Wiki. It looks like you've been doing some good work; keep it up! Oh, and it helps if you sign your talk posts with four tildes. You may have just forgotten on your WikiProject Novels post (I've done that before!), but I thought I'd remind you. Happy editing! Roll call for WikiProject Warriors

Hello. You have listed youself as an active contributor of WikiProject Warriors, but as we are trying to see who is still active, we have put all active contributors under "status pending." If you are still active, go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Warriors and move your name to "Active." Move your name to "Inactive" if you no longer wish to contribute. You may always move it back. On December 27, 2009, all members who have not listed themselves as active will be moved to the "inactive" section. Thank you!

Userpage

Hi Brambleclawx, I saw your note about userpage design. WP:UPDC is the place to go! That's where I got that rainbow for the Warriors page :). I designed my userpage before I found out about it, and it was just a lot of trial and error... As for userboxes, you might want to check out this list of zillions of userboxes pertaining to every subject imaginable, if you haven't already. Happy editing! Userfication

All right. You'll find the articles at User:Brambleclawx/List of ThunderClan Cats, User:Brambleclawx/List of RiverClan Cats, User:Brambleclawx/List of WindClan Cats, User:Brambleclawx/List of ShadowClan Cats, and User:Brambleclawx/List of SkyClan Cats.

Please remember, though, that credit must be given if you use any of the content from any of these. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 20:28, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

Hi, have you considered rollback? I see you are undoing unconstructive revisions :). Yes, I reverted a spelling error the Warriors page and undid that and got really confused... thanks for fixing it! Rollback is only for vandalism and lets you undo vandals in just one click (you have to click at least twice for undoing). Still use undo for good faith stuff but reverting really helps out for vandalism. BTW, I've moved some of our more recent discussion involving redirects to User talk:Airplaneman#Warriors as the old thread was getting insanely long. I've suggested some tools that are helpful so you don't have to memorize everything. Regards, Airplaneman talk 20:21, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

The first thing that comes to mind is that you have only been editing under this account since October, and that you haven't indicated just how often you see vandalism or similar nonproductive edits in your watchlist. The rollback feature was specifically created for people who see vandalism fairly regularly, like in several places on their watchlist every time they log on. Do you see such edits that frequently? If not, and, actually, in general, I've found that more people use Wikipedia:Twinkle more often, and that it actually has more informative automatic edit summaries than pure rollback does. For someone who is comparatively new, I think installing Twinkle would raise a lot fewer eyebrows, and anyone can do that entirely on their own, without needing any sort of approval. At least for no, for a comparatively new editor, I think you would probably be better off with the latter, if for no other reason than the threshold for rollback per se tends to be a bit higher, and people would question how it was you got it so fast. This might lead them to speculate that you had previously edited under another account, which would make them question why you aren't still using that other account, and that sort of speculation in general is probably something newer editors would prefer not facing. At this point, unless the material you watch gets unproductive edits rather regularly, I think you would probably be better off with Twinkle, at least initially. Us admins are known for being gruff, surly types, ;) so people don't get as alienated when they see the rollback edit summary. For a newer editor, the added details in the automatic Twinkle summary would probably be less off-putting for people to see from a newer editor. John Carter (talk) 22:42, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

Hello Brambleclawx. I read your note a few days ago while I was abroad. Do you still need some help with creating this article? All the best, The Rambling Man (talk) 19:13, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

Re:WikiProject Cats

Thanks for your message. I've just added the article to using HotCat and have done some minor copy-editing. It looks like you've got it off to a good start at least and you possibly won't even require my help :). But if I can help in any way, I will try. My one suggestion is perhaps a picture, if you can get one, to help improve the article's quality.

Warriors

Hello! I went through and made a few very minor changes tonight; I'll keep looking. I did have a question about the tense of the article. For instance, look at this sentence: "After the battle, Lionpaw comes back coated in layers of blood, but when Jaypaw examined him, he did not have any scratches." (I would change it to: After the battle, Lionpaw comes back coated in layers of blood, but when Jaypaw examines him, he does not have any scratches.") It changes tenses in the middle of the sentence. I didn't notice that too much, but I think it's a problem throughout the article. However, I'm not positive what the proper tense would be. Anyway, if you wanted to look at that since you're a grammar expert, that's the only major problem I've noticed. PrincessofLlyr (talk) 03:53, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

When recalling happenings in a story, one must always use present tense :). Airplaneman talk 23:58, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, Brambleclawx mentioned that on my talk! Thanks! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 00:04, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I have just had a look. There are some reliable sources, eg The Times, The Independent, MediaWatch, British Theatre Association, The Telegraph, Christian Science Monitor, Newsweek, The Science Network., AOL News, Chortle, New Humanist,Berkeley Daily Planet (although not letters to the editor), The Freethinker. http://freethinker.co.uk/2007/08/11/condell-hits-top-a-million/., UK THeatre Web, etc. But I agree that Youtube does not qualify, also there seem to be some other blogs. I wouldn't be inclined to quickfail it, but I would examine the reliable sources and see what statements they actually support. Jezhotwells (talk) 01:25, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

You are right - I had looked at the edit history but looking at this diff [1] I see that not much has actually changed. As A pinhead has not edited since 17 October and has not addressed the problems I highlighted it would probably be right to fail it on those grounds. Jezhotwells (talk) 21:00, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

re: Warriors GAC review

Hello, Brambleclaw, thanks for your message. It would probably be more helpful for you to post your responses to my comments at Talk:Warriors (novel series), for posterity and what have you. That way, were I or someone else to respond, it would all be contained on one page. Take care, María (habla conmigo) 22:49, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

Hey, I checked in older versions of the article and resurrected the "critical reception", "awards" and "themes" sections, which were mysteriously removed (see the page history for what I added back). Better luck next time on the GA nom; maybe we could renominate during summer? I'm sure we both will have more free time to make contributions. Oh. Brambleclawx 22:48, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

Nice userpage ;) Airplaneman talk 03:53, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

Thanks. I'm not actually that good at coding quite yet: most of the coding was copied of of the WP:WARRIORS page and IBen's page, with slight modifications. I made some warning templates too, but they don't seem to be recognised by tools such as Huggle or Twinkle... I think maybe I need to put <!-- Template:uw-vandalism1 --> or something like that at the end of it. (Those templates were mostly made of the original warning templates, plus some additions with help form the village pump XD) Brambleclawx 22:11, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

Yea, it took me a couple hundred edits to my userpage, and many many previews, to get a good grasp at coding. As for the warning templates, I think TW and HG have some preinstalled, and you can't add any new ones without modding the code... I think. Airplaneman talk 04:10, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

Your edit to my user page

Not sure how you got to my user page or why you felt the need to make edits to it, but no, I don't have rollback. I DID two weeks ago, but it was wrongly removed. I was told to reapply in two weeks if my edits were satisfactory by their ridiculous standards, so I decided not to move since I'll be getting it back once I reapply.

Really poses the question of why you removed the box though? Are you affected by me having it? Paralympiakos (talk) 20:12, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

Well, no, the box doesn't affect me, but that's not the point. There's a little "verify" button on the box for a reason though. In your case, I feel it would be better to remove the box and put it back in at a later time, since you cannot guarantee that you will defintely receive rollback. (after all, if you consider the standards ridiculous, then you may as well expect their judgement to be ridiculous). The main reason I removed it is because it is misleading, or at least, at this point in time, as wikipedia is a rapidly changing project, and therefore, user pages shoudl also reflect changes accordingly. Brambleclawx 20:20, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

It really is the point though. I don't see how it was your business. My user page, not yours.

The rollback removal was farcical. The reasons quoted for its removal was that I was 3RRing, though the definition of 3RR excludes vandalism removal as I was doing. In addition, a reason quoted was one of my edits, which was a straight "undo" rather than a rollback. Undoing is irrelevant to rollback, so the reasons for removal were stupid. However, I'm reapplying soon and can almost guarantee I'll have it back since I'm a committed anti-vandal user and meet the rollback criteria.

You've also not answered how you got to my user page and also why you felt the need to verify whether I had rollback or not. Paralympiakos (talk) 20:27, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

The point is that when a random user stumbles across your page looking for help, that they are not mislead into believing that you have the rollback ability when you do not.

As for how I found your page, I was random page patroling, and I saw some random IP editor typing on their talk about you, and I wanted to make sure that you were not biting the newbies, which you were not. I was looking around, and noticed someone asking you on your talkpage to remove the rollback userbox. I felt that it was for the best. I am not doubting your ability to meet the rollback criteria, I am merely defending my actions as to why I did something now, as opposed to later, when perhaps you may indeed have rollback.

As for this statement:

Remember, nobody owns wikipedia, and even the user space belongs to the community once saved. If you really feel that its not my business, then I will refrain from editing your userpage ever again, unless completely necessary, but technically, you cannot really ask that nobody edit your page. Brambleclawx 20:39, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

So which IP was this then? Interesting to know what is being said about me.

As for the quote, fair play, poor choice of words by me, but general convention in my opinion is just to leave a users page as they want it, provided it's not breaking rules such as civility or copyright etc. Talk page, fine, but generally, I'd feel that it's best to just leave the user page alone. I can see your point, really - and reading my message back, it could be easily seen as hostile, so my bad. So which IP was it? I'm interested to know so that I get some conflict res if need-be. Paralympiakos (talk) 20:47, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

Alright. I generally leave user pages alone unless they have been vandalized or I see something that ought to be fixed. Anyways, the IP was 81.96.25.213, on this revision of their page. They have subsequently blanked it, so I'm assuming that they wish to retract their statement. Cheers, Brambleclawx 20:52, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

That'll be this edit which is right according to current discussions on the talk of WP:MMA. Anyway, I'm going to put this matter behind us. Good day. Paralympiakos (talk) 20:56, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

See you around. Brambleclawx 20:58, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

Warriors

I'm going to archive the discussion soon, so please respond with a new section :) Airplaneman talk 20:57, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

I am sure you already know this, but most Warriors pages are in downright shabby condition. There are simply not enough editors covering the pages... so I was thinking... we set up a sort of Warriors competition during the summer or something, to run somewhat like the WikiCup. The things in need of most work are copyediting and referencing, so they should get the most points. I'd be happy to help moderate and score the competition if it happens; what do you think? It's getting late for me, so I'll stick with the basics for now. I have an outline of the thing in my head, if it goes through. Airplaneman talk 04:17, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

Might work... I may not be as active over the summer, since my parents dislike computers, and I wouldn't have homework as an excuse to use the comp... XD Great idea! Brambleclawx 00:04, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

LOL, same here... I'll draw an outline of the rules this weekend when I have more time. Airplaneman talk 03:59, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

I think we should emphasize article improvement through referencing and wikifying. Airplaneman talk 01:12, 3 March 2010 (UTC)

Good point. Brambleclawx 01:14, 3 March 2010 (UTC)

Telemann

Hello,

thank you for your contributions. I would just like to ask you to research one or two aspects of the articles you're editing. For example, consider your last edit to the flute fantasias article:

 • Before: Telemann's solo flute fantasias are alone in the entire Baroque repertoire... [to include fugues].
 • After: Telemann's solo flute fantasias are one of few in the Baroque repertoire... [to include fugues].

Before, the sentence was correct, and supported by the reference I gave originally, Zohn's book. After, the sentence is incorrect - there are no other solo flute works in the Baroque repertoire to include fugues. (Or at least that is what Zohn writes. If you know a reliable source for your claim that there are other such Baroque solo flute works, you're welcome to add it to the article to complement Zohn or instead of him.)

I can think of a number of other examples, like when an edit you did suggested there were many more collections of fantasias by Telemann, whereas the ones listed in the article were the only ones, and that was the reason for the wording I originally chose, etc. I can't remember which edit this was, because you're taking so many edits to do small changes - sorry. Finally, if you wish to change the naming scheme ("Solo Violin" instead of "solo violin") - which in itself is debatable, given how there is no standard in English for the original title of the work - go ahead, but please take care of the links in other articles to reduce redirect usage.

Thanks,

--Jashiin (talk) 10:32, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Well, before it said something about CPE Bach and someone else, so I thought it meant someone else also wrote fugues, etc. I'm sorry if I got confused about the sentence meaning. I will try to find out what is true. Brambleclawx 00:12, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

Qui request

I'm jumping on the bandwagon! Can I add you to my Qui friends? PrincessofLlyr (talk) 04:07, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

Same reply. Yes, but I have no idea if it'll work since I don't have qui, and probably won't get it until I either get my own comp. account or own computer (shared comp right now) Brambleclawx 22:02, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
Hmm, makes sense. It would appear that you don't work, because I added you to my friends and you don't show up. Oh well. I don't really know how well it will work, but I figured it was worth a try! However, I think that maybe if you employed Airplaneman's idea and used a status update (I use Statustop) it might work for Qui users. PrincessofLlyr (talk) 22:11, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

Does it work now? Brambleclawx 22:15, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

Not yet, but I'm inclined to say that it does strange things because Airplaneman is status as offline and it's showing him online. So, I'm thinking it might have more bugs than it's worth! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 22:18, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

Same here; I usually only change my status when I'm going to edit for a while. When I'm just dropping by, I feel it's a waste of edits (and bandwidth) to say I'm online. BTW, is the problem still there, PrincessofLlyr? Airplaneman talk 03:26, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

Yes. It shows you as permanently online, but also shows when your last edit was, so that helps. It doesn't show Brambleclawx at all. I've tried refreshing and moving Qui to the top of my page, but nothing's changed. Oh, and sorry for jumping on the tagging thing, but it was the first thing on my watchlist when I logged on, so I just did it! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 03:30, 26 February 2010 (UTC)
No, thanks for doing it! What do you think about the Warriors competition (in the Warriors section above). Airplaneman talk 03:57, 26 February 2010 (UTC)
Should I even tell you that I thought about adding my opinion as a talk page stalker and then decided I'd done that too much recently? :) I think it sounds great! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 04:00, 26 February 2010 (UTC)
Another stalker back... Going back to Qui: I have added it and added both Brambleclawx and PricessofLlyr and both are displayed when I ask it to Show Qui friends. Not sure why the princess has a prob with the cat? Haven't tried the aviator yet. BTW, I am only briefly online to check up things so I have remained "Offline" per the developer's advice. (If that makes sense?) --Jubilee♫clipman 04:28, 26 February 2010 (UTC)
Makes perfect sense. Like Airplaneman said, we really only change our status when it's for an extended period of time. I'm not sure why mine won't work. I'm probably going to bring it up on the Qui talk page and see if someone there can figure it out. Would you mind if I experimented by adding you? It might not like Brambleclawx because he doesn't have Qui. PrincessofLlyr (talk) 04:43, 26 February 2010 (UTC)
That's fine. I actually only added you to find out how it all works. If Brambleclawx doesn't have Qui, though, how come I see him on my friends list? That makes even less sense... --Jubilee♫clipman 04:49, 26 February 2010 (UTC)
I'm now "Around", so you know --Jubilee♫clipman 04:53, 26 February 2010 (UTC)
No, you're not showing up either. What browser do you use? I'm on Mozilla 5.6. PrincessofLlyr (talk) 04:55, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

Firefox 3.6. They should be compatible given it is the same company. Curiouser and curiouser... --Jubilee♫clipman 04:57, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

Actually, my mistake. I'm also on Firefox 3.6. I just had to check it again for my post on the Qui help page and...well, can you tell that I'm clueless about computers? PrincessofLlyr (talk) 04:59, 26 February 2010 (UTC)
LOL! OK: did you clear the cache? Go to Tools and Clear Recent History... makes sure everything is checked and press go... You'll probably have to log back in but that's no biggie. If that fails there is probably a bug or something your end. See what the "tech" guys say, too. --Jubilee♫clipman 05:04, 26 February 2010 (UTC)
You are brilliant! It worked - thanks!!! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 05:08, 26 February 2010 (UTC)
No problem my new friend! See you around --Jubilee♫clipman 05:10, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

In response to an earlier question, it owrks because I'm using the statustop, which you people suggested to me. I'm using IE 7.0, if anyone's curious. Brambleclawx 22:33, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

Oh! I wondered where that came from. Thanks! --Jubilee♫clipman 22:43, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

Glad you got the QUI stuff sorted out, PrincessofLlyr :). Hmmm... about IE 7.6. It seems many Wikiscripts are incompatible/not tested on the world's most popular web browser. I wonder why? Airplaneman talk 04:57, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

I had noticed the same thing, but are you kidding about it being the most popular web browser? My sister (more tech-y than myself) says she'll disown me if I use IE. :) PrincessofLlyr (talk) 05:07, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
It's that anti-Microsoft world software domination sentiment :D Microsoft pretty much preloads IE in all Windows computers, giving many little incentive to switch. Yea, I learned this all on (guess where?). Before my family got a new computer (last year) I was editing (and still edit) on Google Chrome because our old computer (the only one we had that functioned properly, anyway) couldn't handle IE — it just ate up too much of the system's computing power. Oh my, I must be boring you... on to wiki stuff. Do you use Popups? I find it immensely useful if my internet decides not to be slow. Also, if you're interested in Templates for deletion, the more votes the better. I have begun voting there instead of AFD, which feels too hectic. Airplaneman talk 23:50, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
After discussing it with my sister again, she did clarify that most people are fine with using IE, it's just the techies that won't! I don't use popups currently, but I'll take a look at them. I haven't really done a lot with AfD, but I'll look around TfD. Thanks! Oh, and I'll be glad to help copyedit The Fourth Apprentice and work it up to GA. (Sorry, changed pages there, that's from your talk!) I feel so behind now! Why is it that all things happen when I'm gone?!? PrincessofLlyr (talk) 00:44, 28 February 2010 (UTC)
Thanks! I just finished reading it, and will begin soon. Yea, lots happens when you're gone... although you were gone only for a day. I guess Chrome just fits my tastes better; it's minimal, fast, and stuff... What do you think of the Warriors contest (a few sections above)? Airplaneman talk 04:54, 28 February 2010 (UTC)
I think it sounds great! I thought I replied to that question...maybe it got lost in the rest of the discussion. I'll be glad to help! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 14:14, 28 February 2010 (UTC)

I hear so much about how awesome Firefox is, so does anyone want to explain why its so great, besides having a cool picture of a fox on it?-oops forgot to sign (Brambleclawx)

This sums it up nicely; it has extensions and it's fast. (you didn't sign your post!) US for the gold medal 3 pm est :D. So yea, I use Chrome because it allows me to open dozens of Wikipedia tabs lightning fast, since it's a minimal browser. Anyway, I'm trying out igloo. It's pretty nice :). Airplaneman talk 18:34, 28 February 2010 (UTC)

I cannot believe that I didn't sign. Wow. Brambleclawx 19:17, 28 February 2010 (UTC)

By the way, how did you get the commited identity on your page. I'm not sure where you people generated it from? Brambleclawx 19:32, 28 February 2010 (UTC)

See Template:User committed identity for instructions :). Airplaneman talk 20:02, 28 February 2010 (UTC)

Thanks... that's a long string of numbers and letter that I've got. Brambleclawx 20:12, 28 February 2010 (UTC)

In response to the whole deal about Firefox, can I say something in defense of myself? I've mentioned before that I know nothing about computers, right? So I didn't choose my browser either. It's the one my family uses. But I'm fine with it! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 21:08, 28 February 2010 (UTC)

Erm... I didn't mean for it to sound like that. Oops. Sorry :'(.
Anyway, I saw your editor review... can't think of any areas for you to improve on except warning every vandal you revert. (I'm guilty of not doing that myself). I think I'm going to go up for it, too! Airplaneman talk 22:58, 28 February 2010 (UTC)
Sorry, reading back over that last post, it sounded a little more defensive than I meant...I just didn't want anyone to think that I believe Firefox is amazing. About editor review, it's great to hear that you don't have too many problems with me! I was thinking about waiting until I'd been around for a year, but I really did want to find out anything I could improve, so I just went ahead and did it! And I'll say ahead of time, that I think you're an amazing editor and I really haven't seen anything that I think you need to improve. But I'm not experienced or anything...! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 02:32, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
Actually FF is no better than IE (or Opera or any of the others for that matter...) I just use it because it supports certain features that I find useful and that IE does not support (apparently). Recently, FF actually is going bonkers quite frequently, in fact, and crashes/freezes. I might trim back my add-ons and see if that helps! --Jubilee♫clipman 03:06, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
Any of you guys and gals feel inclined to comment here, out of interest? I have abolutely no idea what your feelings are BTW so I'm pretty sure that my question does not violate this --Jubilee♫clipman 03:12, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
I'll take a look. Airplaneman talk 04:14, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
And about those browsers... I think I got a bit carried away :). It's really a matter of personal preference and browsing style. I'm humbled of your opinion, PrincessofLlyr; thanks :D. I'll see what others think of me at editor review (I'll sign up for it soon). Airplaneman talk 04:30, 1 March 2010 (UTC)

Oh dear. I think it must be serious. He hasn't edited since December 24. I'm rather ashamed to say that I am no longer close to John. I was very close to him back in 2008 and he is a very intelligent sensible guy but after he initially left for months with those epilectic problems since he returned things have not been the same. Last I heard he was happily editing and feeling a little better. I have not even checked up on him or even thought of him actually. He has not emailed or anything. Didn't the last time either. I do hope it hasn't been fatal. If it hasn't, we would have appreciated it if he got somebody to leave a note on his talk page.. ‡ Himalayan ‡ ΨMonastery 12:23, 9 March 2010 (UTC)

Warriors character lists

Hi Brambleclaw,

You appear to be the mastermind behind the Warriors character lists, so I figured I'd check in with you before proceeding with my edits. I am concerned about the list titles. I have already moved the main list to List of Warriors characters in order to be consistent with lists of characters in other franchises. As for the other lists, I notice that each includes the disambiguator "(Warriors)". This disambiguator should be removed; the title "List of SkyClan cats" means nothing outside the Warriors franchise, therefore it is not ambiguous. There are two lists whose titles require further changes. Would you consider "List of Tribe of Rushing Water cats" an appropriate title for the list currently called List of cats in the Tribe of Rushing Water and Ancient cats (Warriors)? The ancient cats are still Tribe of Rushing Water cats, even though distinct from the rest. Also, the List of Characters outside Clans (Warriors) should be renamed; "Characters outside Clans" is not intended as an official term when stated as the title of the list in the books' allegiances section. What do you think of renaming it "List of clanless Warriors characters"? I would move them all myself, but I wanted to check in with you first since you're so heavily involved with these pages.

Neelix (talk) 19:40, 12 March 2010 (UTC)

I agree with the name changes. Much more simple! Airplaneman talk 20:02, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
Ah... I had a feeling someone was going to mention the Tribe page sooner or later. I personally feel that it can be shortened to List of cats in the Tribe of Rushing Water. And technically, none of the disambiguators are needed, since ThunderClan, RiverClan, WindClan and SkyClan are all distinct, with ShadowClan being my only concern (this page has a similar title). My feeeling is to leave it as Characters outside Clans, since Clanless gives the impression that they are unwanted, rejected, and generally excluded (this is my own personal view of the "-less" suffix). But yes, the disambiguators can all be removed. Thanks for asking me. Happy editing, Brambleclawx 23:55, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
Sounds like a good plan. Airplaneman talk 00:45, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
Which means we need an admin to move the Tribe page. I think I can handle the other character pages, which all will have (Warriors) removed, except for ShadowClan, which I will keep as is. Brambleclawx 00:48, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
I am glad that you agree with the renaming of the ThunderClan, RiverClan, WindClan, and SkyClan lists. I also concur with your suggestion to move List of cats in the Tribe of Rushing Water and Ancient cats (Warriors) to List of cats in the Tribe of Rushing Water and have moved it accordingly. I do feel that it is important to remove the disambiguator from the ShadowClan list as well. According to Wikipedia's disambiguation guidelines, disambiguation should only occur when "an article title could refer to several things". "List of ShadowClan cats" could not refer to the Ultima Online guild because cats have nothing to do with the guild. Also, the title "List of Characters outside Clans (Warriors)" is problematic for multiple reasons and cannot remain as it is. It is not necessary that the term "clanless" be used, however it is important that the disambiguator be removed and the term "Characters outside Clans" not be treated as a proper term unto itself. Neither "characters" nor "clans" are justifiably capitalized in that title. What do you think of renaming it "List of Warriors characters outside clans"? As a sidenote, please be careful in how you phrase your comments on talk pages. Employing the phrase "I will keep [the article title] is" suggests that you are declaring ownership of the article. The development of all Wikipedia articles is the responsibility and privilege of all Wikipedia editors; the determination of what to do with an article is the result of consensus rather than the choice of the article's initial creator or primary contributor. Neelix (talk) 15:56, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

I apologise if it looked as though I was declaring ownership. I, for one, dislike people who do so, and so try not to assert ownership of any article. What I meant was that since I couldn't think of what to change it to, I would not change it yet; I did not mean to imply that I would not let anyone else change it. I can see the logic behind the ShadowClan name change too. I admire your experience, which shows, as you have come up with great titles that I would not have thought of. I will change the names accordingly, unless anyone else has objections. (Again, I am not declaring ownership, I'm just saying that I will go get this done). Brambleclawx 18:33, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

That looks wonderful, Brambleclaw! I hope my guideline-quoting was not too presumptuous. It has been a pleasure working out these list titles with you; I wish you all the best in getting Warriors (novel series) back up to good status. Neelix (talk) 02:18, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
Thank you, and happy editing! Brambleclawx 13:56, 14 March 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Cadornism

Hello Brambleclawx, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Cadornism, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: There is sufficient context to identify the subject of the article. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 15:18, 14 March 2010 (UTC)

Alright. Brambleclawx 15:18, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
I meant to add to the above, but my internet connection failed at that moment. A1 is only intended for really short inconsequential articles - the example given in WP:CSD is "He is a funny man with a red car. He makes people laugh." My first thought was to PROD this as an insufficiently-sourced WP:Neologism; all the references (Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL) seem to originate from Gramsci, but there do seem to be quite a few; I will think about an AfD (and of course you can, too) but at the moment I am inclined to leave it. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 15:27, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
Sure. It just looked a bit trivial to me, so I tagged it. Brambleclawx 15:29, 14 March 2010 (UTC)

Given your work in general, I'll definitely assume good faith, but could you please take a look at this edit of yours: [2]. Seems to me that you restored some material with very serious BLP issues. - Jmabel | Talk 04:04, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

Not totally familiar with all the BLP things quite yet, so maybe I didn't pick that up, but basically, I think it just looked suspicious that a whole chunk of text was removed without explanation by an anonymous editor. Brambleclawx 16:35, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
The anonymous user removed text included statements like "Sadly, he has never been able to hold a job for very long, being terminated from almost 20 positions in as many years. Fortunately, his ex wife, Heidi, the more talented of the two, has gone on to better things"? It is possible that he or she also removed text that should not have been removed - I haven't looked that closely yet - but this definitely should not have been restored. - Jmabel | Talk 18:33, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
Yes, I agree, since it looks rather opinionated. ("Sadly", "Fortunately", "More talented", etc.) Maybe I should have rewritten that part when I restored it to have NPOV. Brambleclawx 18:35, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

For future reference

If you have a userpage that you want deleted, you can just tag it with db-u1. DS (talk) 00:52, 17 March 2010 (UTC)

Ok, thanks. Brambleclawx 14:19, 17 March 2010 (UTC)

I, Robot

Hi Brambleclawx,

Sorry for bothering you with this, but could you explain me in one or two sentences what kind of page I created that you nominated for speedy deletion. I do not know why this "I, Robot" section is on this user page template and how to use it properly. Kind regards--Rokarudi 21:18, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

That's alright. Well, what you seem to have done is created a page called "I, your username". I'm not sure where you got the template, so I can't say for sure that I know what its for. If you tell me where its from, I could try and find out what it is. Brambleclawx 21:25, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

This was a part of the user page template, I use (hopefully properly), the rest is OK, but this last window is very foggy for me. I would not like to mess up something. Thank you User:Rokarudi--Rokarudi 21:33, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

Where did you get the template? Brambleclawx 21:35, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

I found it somewhere on wiki. When I added this 'thing' to my usepage was (I think) this edit: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Rokarudi&diff=338238082&oldid=338237036--Rokarudi 21:53, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

I'll delete the I, Robot link if you like. Brambleclawx 21:55, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

Thank you in advance for your help. Good night --Rokarudi 21:56, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

Done. Brambleclawx 22:04, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

Master of Computer Applications

Article Master of Computer Applications has exposed to vandalism (specially) by 122.173.176.137 user who has removed some of the important sections from this article. Could please you suggest any help on this issue? Thanks Ritwikbmca (talk) 05:23, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

Actually, 122.173.176.137 has only vandalised the article once. But if you really feel the need to, you could request semi-protection; however, the amount of vandalism might not be enough for the request to be accepted. Brambleclawx 14:06, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

Thanks! I'm actually going to merge it into Warriors (novel series) which is where it was originally split out of. Thanks again! Brambleclawx 01:55, 24 March 2010 (UTC)

Glad to do it; that's a pretty big chunk of informative text which should never have been taken out in the first place. Great catch.  :) --PMDrive1061 (talk) 01:57, 24 March 2010 (UTC)

I'm going to have a lot of fun with this stuff Brambleclawx 01:58, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
Darn. The exact section I was looking for isn't in there. Do you think you could look again for a section labelled something like "Herbs" or "Medicine"? Brambleclawx 02:00, 24 March 2010 (UTC)

I found a section which an anon had placed in alphabetical order per the edit summary. I'm including a section on illnesses. Both were near the bottom of an old version of the page...hope it's enough! Let me know if you need me to find anything else. PMDrive1061 (talk) 03:03, 24 March 2010 (UTC)

Thanks! Exactly what I was looking for! Brambleclawx 03:04, 24 March 2010 (UTC)

I'm going to second his comment with one modification: we will miss you even now, not just if you leave forever. However, knowing you're gone forever would seem much more tragic than hoping you'll be back in a few weeks. We'll keep an eye on your pages and Warriors while you're gone. Ah well, that seems more reasonable now you put it that way! LOL! --Jubilee♫clipman 00:29, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
Now I can't help but to do a "simple" watchlist patrol. I'm very surprised that so many additions to the Warriors articles have not been checked for spelling, grammar, and POV. *cough*. Brambleclawx 00:31, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
*bows head in shame* I have failed you, great cat. I will strive to do better. (that's only partially tongue in cheek, I promise.) (do not feel any need to reply. I will understand) PrincessofLlyr (talk) 01:00, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

Don't feel bad. its quite alright. When I get back, I'm already planning to do a history check of every Warriors article. I'll see if I can supply you people a copy my watchlist. Brambleclawx 02:12, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

Seriously though, I'll try to keep a better watch. It's just a bit overwhelming! And a copy of your watchlist would be great. I tried to watch most of the Warriors pages, but I know I don't have them all. Funny thing about Wikipedia, I keep getting drawn into more and more things - I'm not sure how Airplaneman manages with hundreds on his watchlist. I'm at about 170 and a lot of those aren't active. I manage by simply filtering by namespace, removing my edits, bot edits, IP edits, etc. :) That makes ~5000 pages seem a lot less. Airplaneman 02:31, 31 March 2010 (UTC)

Welcome to the Percy Jackson Task Force!

Brambleclawx, welcome to the Percy Jackson Task Force (PJTF)! We aim to create and improve articles related to the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series. Feel free to post ideas at the PJTF General forums and look at our To Do list for things to do. We are currently aiming to make The Battle of the Labyrinth a good article; you can help! Add to your userpage to keep up with the latest PJTF news. Happy editing, mono 00:08, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Re:Wikiproject Warriors

Thank you for the invite, but in all honesty I don't think I would devote enough time to the project. Most of my time is taken up by the separate Warriors Wiki, and I apologize, but I don't want to join and then be inactive as that seems rude when i know I won't have much to contribute. I'm sorry :( Insaneular (talk) 12:59, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

Image rationales

You still need to include a specific rationale which explains the article where you're going to use the image, and why it meets the non-free content criteria. Check out File:Carcassonne-Game-Spinoffs-Compared.jpg for a good example of a rationale related to a game. (ESkog)(Talk) 23:41, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

 • Typically, "low resolution" in practice means about 300 pixels wide, unless there is some reason why we need to see more (or less) in order to properly identify or comment on the image. (ESkog)(Talk) 04:01, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

Thank you!

Thank you for the warm welcome and offer to be of help. It is most appreciated! Violet6074 (talk) 14:05, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

Glad to be of help! If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Brambleclawx 20:59, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

Thank you, I really appreciate it! Brambleclawx 00:48, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

WOW!!!

By heck, that was quick! I actually added it but I never noticed that I had been logged out. Took me ages, too! That said, you're probably right: we're not here for politics (even if the UK will probably end up with a Hung Parliament on Friday...) I'll get on with more useful things, now --Jubileeclipman 22:34, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

Yes, I was wondering if that was you, logged out (I believe I have made one logged off edit before too), since the edti summary looked like something you would write. But I decided to stick to the safe side, since I had no idea what that was about. Brambleclawx 22:38, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
At least you noticed... and acted! Thanks for that, sincerely. I copied it over to a subpage, anyway, I might stick it on my Userpage tomorrow night. Cheers, Mr Userpage Vandal-Fighter --Jubileeclipman 22:47, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
No problem. Brambleclawx 22:48, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

Well, thanks for deleting a whole evening's work without so much as a nod in the direction of consultation. I hope that pressing the mouse button didn't cause you too much finger strain. (I give up on Wikipedia: I really am sick of tinpot autocrats.) Orthorhombic, 02:01, 9 May 2010 (UTC)

Anyway, you would have thought that you would be delighted to have an article that illustrated that many countries around the world recognise Taiwan over China. Orthorhombic, 02:04, 9 May 2010 (UTC)

Good luck

[3] For tomorrow, also. Don't let WP distract you as it has me recently....... --Jubileeclipman 22:35, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

You don't have exams until June?!? Wow! Good luck. PrincessofLlyr royal court 23:11, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
I got beaten, though it was a close contest. (I came in second; part of the reason is that I'm pretty bad at V7 arpeggios. As for exams... in about 2 years, my exams will be around now. Brambleclawx 02:28, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

A little help

It's nothing major but can you help with my signature? When I type it like this: Derild4921Sign my guestbook please! it comes out fine. I out it in my signature box in my preferences, but when I sign with four tides: <span style="color:green">Derild<span style="color:red">4921<span style="color:blue">Sign my guestbook please! (talk) 23:41, 13 May 2010 (UTC) the whole link comes out. Is there anyway to fix that or do I have to manually type in the signature every single time? Again, thx for your help! Derild4921 (talk) 23:45, 13 May 2010 (UTC)

(talk page stalker)I think it might be to do with the preference settings. Go to your Preferences look at the first page under Signature and tick the box that says "Sign my name using the provided wikitext." Then try ~~~~ again --Jubileeclipman 00:11, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

Ticked: Jubileeclipman 00:14, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
That should be the problem, but when I try to save that Invalid raw signature. Check HTML tags. appears. What can the problem? The whole link is <span style="color:green">Derild<span style="color:red">4921<span style="color:blue">Sign my guestbook please! (talk) 01:06, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Try:

Derild4921Sign my guestbook please! <span style="color:green">Derild</span><span style="color:red">4921</span><span style="color:blue">Sign my guestbook please!</span>

You forgot to add </span> to everything. This should fix it! Airplaneman 01:26, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, the problem was forgetting the and the having the . I can't get the signature to have superscript or subscript for some reason, but that's ok. Now it's Derild4921Sign my guestbook please! 01:42, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Glad to see my Talk page stalkers helped you out. I think PrincessofLlyr made that missing closing tag mistake too. Brambleclawx 02:27, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

Combined arch pgs

Hi-I'm currently combining the arch pgs down to only four. --Funandtrvl (talk) 01:04, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

Oh ok. Sorry about that. Do leave an edit summary next time, so we know. Brambleclawx 01:05, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
Sorry, I forget to put an edit summary, I've updated 'my prefs'. Have a good weekend! --Funandtrvl (talk) 01:07, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
